With a turn of the steering wheel and a press of the gas pedal, Minnesota drivers are pulling up in increasing numbers to the Unleaded 88 dispensers at their fueling stations and filling up with Unleaded 88, the 15% ethanol-gasoline blend made with Minnesota-grown corn.
The October report (the latest available) from the Minnesota Department of Commerce shows that Minnesota drivers bought 9,580,150 gallons of Unleaded 88 during that month. And this figure comes from just 240 out of the 442 stations that sell Unleaded 88, so the total sales figure is probably quite a bit higher.
